Composer Larry Alan Smith wrote the following on January 16, 2010 while in Vienna: It was a slightly warmer and blue sky day today in Vienna ... so I decided to head to the suburbs. Specifically, I went to the cemetery ... an old habit that dates back to my student days in Paris.
As I made my way around some of the monuments, I turned a corner and there she was ... Lotte Lehmann. Attached are a couple of photos.
I hadn't been to the Central Cemetery on previous visits to Vienna. It is truly an extraordinary place. I want to return when I can walk without worrying about snow and ice.
Reporting in from Wien .... Larry.
